As for floods, they are caused by having large volumes of water like lakes, ocean or rivers, heavy rain falls, and serious snow melting. Tsunami usually happens in Pacific areas because of its huge tectonically active regions. While floods commonly occur on areas that have flat and broad lands that are near any waterways or bodies of water. Tsunamis are series of waves while floods are water overflows.
